Introduction

Thank you for your interest about my tours and service.

My name is Andrea Medgyesi. I am a professional tour guide in Budapest for more then 15 years. I specialize in Jewish Tours. I come from a family where my both parents are Holocaust survivors. My father with his mother- my dear late grandma – was and liberated in the Budapest ghetto. My mother when she was 8 years old was in Mathausen (Austria) concentration camp with my other dear late grandma and his 10 years old brother.

This family background gives me the opportunity to introduce you the WWII and the Hungarian Holocaust on more personal way and not just only pure facts learnt from history books.

However when I was born it was still communism in Hungary, I was raised in a Jewish home.

I am always happy to talk about Jewish life in Hungary during the Soviet regime. Quite a lot from my Clients are very appreciated for this much less known information.

As I am a board member of the B’nai Brith Budapest Lodge and very active- together with my husband and two sons in our Community I also can give you first hand information about present Jewish life in Hungary.
Being your tour guide and showing you the Jewish Heritage in Hungary, is not just a work and pleasure for me but also a mission.
